When we talk about "junk" food, our minds automatically imagine something unhealthy. Especially people on diet, just try to eliminate it. Eliminating junk food like ice creams, chocolates, candies, and cakes merely won't get you health, rather you are going to feel deprived of such tasty foods. It is suggested to control your cravings and eat sensibly but doesn't completely eliminate them.
Getting convinced with the word "Natural"
"Natural" is not every time "natural". When we read the word natural on any food item, we tend to believe it to be coming directly from farms or plants or rather say it's kind of organic. But this is a misconception. Don't just buy any food package because of the "Natural" word, rather take time to read the ingredients and nutrition information.
No barriers to eating, when you Exercise
For some, the lockdown has been productive because they could focus on exercise. But were you focusing on diet as well? There are many, who just do workouts and forget about diets. Workouts can keep you fit but what about keeping yourself healthy? Well, physical activity and eating habits should go hand in hand. Don't eat unhealthy just because in the end, you exercise. Eating unhealthy can reverse the effect of exercise. Exercise burns calories, although unhealthy food increases calorie intake. So just try to eat food high in nutrients and low in calories. Don't forget to balance out physical activity with calorie intake and keep checking your weight.
Avoiding late-night cravings
For keeping healthy, a lot of people choose not to eat after 8 p.m. Avoiding late-night snacks is a good and healthy decision, but it doesn't apply to all. What if someone might have had a busy and occupied day? This person might not have got time to have dinner on time. In this case, one should not skip dinner completely, better listen to your body's requirements. If you are hungry late at night, prefer eating food lower than 200 calories. Food like one small banana with almond butter, two peeled Kiwis, strawberries with brie, and one handful of pistachios are healthy late-night snacks.
Drinking eight glasses of water is a must
We have often heard, that drinking 8 glasses of water keeps oneself healthy. But it's not true with everyone. Some might need less or some might need more according to the body's requirement. Usually, people forget to count the hydration that we get from fruits and vegetables. The consumption of fluid from the food we take is also the source of water, that must not be ignored.
Multivitamin is healthy and must
Multivitamins vary according to the brands. Not all brands maintain the level of nutrients and minerals. Multivitamins come in the form of capsules, liquids, powders, and tablets. Since multivitamin is not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), labels mentioning the level of nutrients cannot be trusted. So it is advised to purchase vitamins from a well-known manufacturer. Also before consumption know the amount of vitamin present and does it contain herbs too. To be assured about the right multivitamin, consult with your doctor or a dietician.
Wheat and whole wheat bread are all the same
Whenever you go for a bread purchase, buy whole wheat bread. Whole wheat bread contains more fiber as compared to wheat bread. Fiber helps in reducing the risk of heart attacks and strokes, it also helps in losing or maintaining weight.
